Artificial, so that I can put it up early. I used to love getting a tree with my dad out in the bush...but now that it's my house....I don't like the pine needles or the sap on the walls

a doll house that my Nanny and Grandad Smith built themselves...they even made all the little pieces of furniture! It was so amazing!!

My kids asked for one...it's precious moments.

My sister because she is so precise about the stuff that she likes and how she decorates her home (which is beautiful)....and our niece Cora because she won't tell you what she wants....just what she doesn't want!

Ian and my kids! I know them so well! And I listen all year long and make mental notes of what to look for!

An ugly blouse when I was 11 with a big white bow at the neck! And itchy wool sweaters that you had to wear because someone had made/bought them for you!

I like How The Grinch Stole Christmas( cartoon) . I also always watch Sound of Music and Anne of Green Gables...not sure how they became xmas movies!!
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
I start when Xmas is over!! I pick up ornaments and decorations when they go on clearance and I watch sales all year long! The boys make their list in August and that's when the fun starts!

Nope! Just made sure that it met with an unfortunate accident!

MORNING!! When I was a kid my sister and I would exchange gifts before we went to bed and as teenagers we would open everything so that we could sleep in....Dad LOVED that idea!! Now that I have kids I like the anticipation of Christmas morning! They are so excited and I love that!

I hate it when people feel that they have to compete with everyone...whether it be decorations or making sure their gifts "out-do" everyone elses!

Buying my kids a new ornament every year....I try so hard to try to find something that relates to what they are into that year! Making perogies!

I remember a green Torino? Sp?? And my dad’s orange Datson pickup truck.
2. What was the name of your first pet and why?
We had a golden retriever named Jackson….my parents named him. He was the sweetest dog and the best cuddler!

A teacher like my dad….maybe someday still….I’ll just teach nursing!

Toss up….Melanie Morisette, Kathy Doner and Aimee Morrison.
6. Are you still friends today, and if not, what happened?
Melanie moved away in grade 5 or 6…no idea where she is now, Kathy Doner and I stopped hanging out before high school because she was into the drinking/partying seen a little sooner than I was ready for it….no idea where she is now. Aimee and I remained friends through university… we still get together if we are in town…lost touch when she moved west to do her PHD in Alberta. She is now living in Waterloo area and is an English Professor at the University of Waterloo. I receive updates a couple of times a year from her mom. Her nephew and my oldest son are friends.
7. What was your favorite board game?
Clue, MAD, Simon, monopoly
8. Did you play house or other make believe games?
We used to play Nancy Drew mysteries and make up stories about our neighbours and look for clues or spy on the trucks coming in and out of the mine road and make up big conspiracy theories. We would play house…..with the boys down the street we would play Dukes of Hazzard …good times!
9. Were you a Dungeons and Dragons geek?
nope
10. Did you sleep with stuffed animals as a kid?
I had an extensive collection.

yes….sorry thought you said furry animal….I sleep with my husband!
12. Who was the first person you looked up to when you were younger?
My neighbour and future teacher Bernie Jaworsky….he was so cool when Paul and I were kids….always teaching us. I got to help him dissect a pig when I was a kid….he played baseball with us and so many other fun things. He was the one that calmed me down when I ran to his house crying because my sister told me I was adopted….he always sponsored me for any and all fundraising….just a fabulous man….still admire him to this day.
13. Favorite Relative?
My cousin Mike Zidar…..he had such an attitude….very arrogant but charming at the same time….said what he wanted did what he wanted. I remember when we all took piano lessons and he wanted to play the theme from Terms of Endearment….but it was a week before our Royal Conservatory Exam and our teacher said we had to play our exam pieces….so he played the exam piece and as our teacher was introducing the next student he stood up and said “I’m not finished yet”….and played the piece he wanted. He was a total prep….loved the way he dressed….it was the 80’s after all…..when I was older we worked together in the bar at the golf course and he would play a game of liar’s dice with the old guys out there…gambling “our” tip money and usually tripling it. Fun guy!! He lives in AB now and is an optometrist. For Ian’s birthday last year he sent me a pair of RX Oakley sunglasses for free. AWESOME!!

I was always about average.
15. Were you teased in school?
From time to time…mostly about how much I talk. Never got teased for wearing braces thought weird huh? No braceface comments!! I got braces at a time when several people had them in my class. I got teased a little in highschool for not having the biggest breasts but who cares? Never wanted them and now I’m stuck with them!!
16. What was the name of your favorite teacher?
Let’s see…..Mr. Drewbrook, Mr Jaworsky, Miss Comrie, Mr Wallsten, Mr D Mullins, Mr Orr. Mr Drewbrook was my highschool history teacher and he was so damned funny and made everything interesting. He was my sister’s favorite teacher too….she even invited him to her wedding and he brought them a gift when their daughters were born….still remembers all of his students names…
Mr Jaworsky was my biology teacher and neighbour….loved his way of teaching….very direct, put all the responsibility on you for your own actions …..
Miss Comrie….art teacher and friend of the family. Still see her family when they come to visit KL….helped me paint a watercolour painting for my parents for Christmas…and gave great advice!!
Mr Mullins….chemistry teacher and parent of an old friend….one of those teachers whose know you since you were 4, knows your whole story……he used to take your hat off in the hallway and make you pay a loonie to get it back….i had a bad hair day and wore a hat to school….came with 2 loonies to chemistry class….one to get in and one to get out….went xmas carolling at his house in university and got really drunk….

Mr Reinhold…music teacher….by grade 10 I was in jr, sr and stage band…..but he was a sexist big that made really inappropriate comments to the girls in the class…in grade 11 I told him to fuck off and quite music!!

Biology, music, English, math, French.

see above answer…..you only HAD to do P.E. in grade 9 ….in grade nine I had Mono, and 2 surgeries…not a great year. I played Jr Volleyball, and all intramurals and joined the GAA

| The Liberals have finally done it!!! Same Sex Marriage Legislation has been passed!!! YIPEE!! I hope Steven Harper and the Conservatives crawl into a hole to die in shame!! After month of trying to defeat the Liberals by joining forces with the NDP or The Bloc without success, he now claims that votes won by using the same tactic "lacks legitimacy"!! Pardoner-moi?? He is so pissed that the NDP got together with the Liberals to increase social spending in the budget and then snookered them in the budget vote last Friday! And hooray they did it again today!! Accept defeat Mr Harper: you don't have the numbers to bring the Liberals down in the House of Commons OR at the polls!! | So last week I watched a little bit of Oprah while I was at work.....she did a whole bit on finding the right bra and how we can keep our girls from retiring south!!
So I did some searching on line.....do you think I can find an answer?? With all the calculations I've done I should be a 40E, 46 DD/E, 44C and the list goes on!!
We have a lady that comes to Thompson from Winnipeg to fit people for bras...they are expensive but probably well worth it!! If that doesn't work a referral to a plastic surgeon for reduction would work great!

Well that is my little vent for today! Still stewing pretty hard about it...I hope that my anger will calm down soon so that I can call my mom back without lashing out in horrible anger. I'm going home for a wedding in a couple of weeks and would prefer if things were on a more amicable playing field.
Any words of wisdom/encouragement appreciated!
